Evaluation.

For this project we where asked to look at the Tom & Jerry cartoon, delete that sound to it and add a brand new wild track and add new SFX. I believe that the sound matches the piece of work nicely the timing is pretty good through out apart from a couple of SFX's that where really hard to time up. 

I believe that the sound SFX compliment the piece of work nicely. the only reason it doesn't really work in a couple of sections is because i have over used a couple of clips to many times. The thing that compliments the cartoon the most is the piano tune playing as the wild track. 

The SFX's, nom, sneeze, whoop, fart, pop, blah, indians shout, and a sneeze. I recorded these sound because there are sound that i can make with my mouth and would be easily made.

The SFX's that I downloaded are meow, squelch, door shutting, bolt, and speedy run. I  downloaded these as it would be easier than trying to make the sounds myself. 

Next time I would choose a load more SFX's as it would fill out the piece of work better and make it be more interesting. 

Production Schedual Tom & Jerry.

Week 1
Monday- Do all pre production work.
Tuesday- Carry on with pre production work. 
Wednesday- Look at both clips and look at what piece of the clip that i want to use.
Thursday- Start looking at the clips and seeing what will go good where.
Friday- Start story boarding.
Saturday- Obtain the none downloadable sounds.
Sunday- Day off.

Week 2
Monday- Start downloading the other sounds of the internet.
Tuesday- Edit the sequence together.
Wednesday- Day off.
Thursday- Looking a footage and see what we need to tidy up.
Friday- Re-shoot things.
Saturday- Export the clip.
Sunday- Day off.

New Footage

After watching the new footage we have corrected all the problems that occurred in the first shoot. We made sure that there where no shadows and sound problems with our filming. With the filming in the class room when well. We added in new camera angles and the new mics made the sound clearer. Using the same camera was a good idea as it has kept the picture quality strong.
Overall this has been a success.

Equiptment for second shoot

As a group we sat down and held a group meeting. We discussed and reviewed our previous news reports and considered what we could do to improve these clips.
We decided for the indoor location that worked well the first time that we would use tie mic as this would be a more professional way to film a news report in that location.
For the out side filming for the car, we decided to locate the car better so we would not cast and shadows. We decided to use the same mic in the car (boom mic) as this was effective last time.
For the toilet shoot we decided to drop this as the location is probably the worst location you could ever shoot a news report and that there were to many different sound happening at once.
We also decided to use the same tripod and camera as they gave us good steady shots and the camera gave us really good picture.

What's wrong with the footage.

Inside - When we where filming inside the class room we ran into no problems. Scouting the location before to make sure there was no distracting noises. For instance there was no fan or computers on. There was also no ext noise from the corridors. The sound came out prefect and there where no problems with the  visuals

Outside - For on of the news reports we also filmed out side in a car. We experience some problems with sound while filming this. With the visuals the car was facing the sun so we had problems of reflections on the window of the crew. This caused shadows to be cast on the presenters. As well as this because of the sun you could see the camera and the tripod on the bonnet of the car. The sound turned out to be fine as we located the mic inside the car. this stopped and noise from people walking around and the wind from being heard.

Noisy - We also filmed inside the college toilets. in this location the visuals where okay, with the speech being a little out of time. With the audio when we got to the editing suit we found that we had recorded no sound and had only the visuals. This is the biggest fail you could ever do when recording sound.

Who's in my group, plan.

For this task we have asked to get into groups of four. We need to film a couple of news repots with visual and sound problems. In my group i have Aaron, Mitch, Adam and myself.
We plan to film in the toilet, we want to have both presenters sitting down opening the doors at different time for a comical style of news report.
The second location we plan to use is inside the car. This will carry on the comical side of our news repots.
The last location we will use for the final report will be proper and we will try and have the news repots as realistic as we can get it in college.
